God’s Word becomes the lens through which you see yourself, and suddenly, the opinions of others no longer have control over you.
Confessing the Forty 'I Am's' each day is more than a habit—it's a transformation. When you declare what God says about you, you'll see yourself through His eyes.
So join me in reading, praying, confessing and writing out these 40 'I Am's. Learn to see yourself the way God sees you.
The 40 "I Am's"
In this post, I share 40 life-changing truths about your identity directly from God's heart to renew your mind and lift your spirit. I also invite you to use these 40 I AM's in a 40-day challenge!
As I write this post, I am finishing another study in our Facebook group about the glory of God. On day 21, we discuss Ephesians 1:11—14: We have been chosen and predestined by God to be glory carriers. I loved writing the devotional for that day, just sitting in the Lord's presence, contemplating how God has chosen us.
That word chosen keeps echoing in my mind and heart, like a heartbeat that won't fade away. It's as if God is whispering, "You are handpicked, set apart, uniquely called." The thought of being chosen by the Creator of the universe is overwhelming. It stirs something deep within, making me wonder—what does it really mean to be chosen by God?
That word, 'chosen,' led me on a quest to discover what God says through His word, the Bible, about who He says we are, and I found 40 I AMS! (There are probably many more)
Who Does God Say I Am?
What if the key to finding peace, purpose, and confidence was remembering who you are? The world will always try to define you by your past, your mistakes, or your successes. But God defines you by His love and truth, which changes everything.
Your past does not define you. Your behavior, failures, struggles, feelings, or circumstances do not define you. You are who God says you are!
1. Did you know God has said you are a chosen race?
"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light" (1 Peter 2:9).
2. You are a royal priesthood. You are a person who has been redeemed, chosen, and adopted.
"In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace" (Ephesians 1:7).
3. You are not a mistake. You are not an afterthought.
"Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes" (Ephesians 1:4, NLT).
4. You are not a liability. You have been created in the very image of God!
"So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them" (Genesis 1:27).
When you surrender all of who you are physically and emotionally to God and place your faith in His Son, Jesus Christ, you allow Him to take up residence inside of you through the Holy Spirit. You actually become the temple of the Holy Spirit. God's presence lives on the inside of you.
You are not your own. You need to walk in the Holy Spirit and do the things that God has uniquely created you to do, to carry His Presence and reflect His glory to the world around you.
How can you be all God has called and created you to be?
You must renew your mind with the glorious words of who God says you are through scripture. The following 40 I Am statements are perfect for this task.
