Migdal-Oz is the Hebrew name for God meaning my strong tower or stronghold.
Strongholds are fortified defensive structures or a place that is in a position of strength and safety. Strongholds have been used throughout history to provide refuge from enemies.
In biblical times, some cities were enclosed by walls that were twenty-five feet thick. Farmers would work in their fields during the day outside the city walls and then they would retreat within the city walls during the night to keep them safe. If the city had a good stronghold, then the enemy couldn't break through their defenses and the people and their food supply would remain safe.

The name of the lord is a Strong Tower meaning (Migdal Oz)
In Proverbs 18:10, we read of this security: “The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous run into it, and are safe.” What does this mean?
It means that God is not just a strong tower but also a 'watchtower', your watchtower!
God is your watchtower that guards your heart and mind. God is your tower of salvation and deliverance when you go to Him in prayer.
We all have bad habits that cause us to sin but God can renew our minds and break the spiritual strongholds in our lives.
Do you struggle with bad eating habits?
Do you have issues with something else that holds you back from truly living in the freedom that Jesus died for you to have?
Run to the Lord, your 'Watchtower'.
God is also your tower of strength. He is not a tower of brick or mud. He is something much better!
God is a spiritual tower of strength and divine protection. And He wants us to run to Him in prayer.
When the storms of your life overwhelm you, there is only one thing you can do to survive and that is to position yourself in the right place in the hands of God, your stronghold, and pray, pray!
Actually, pray, and listen for God's voice whispering across your heart and wait in His presence.
You can only be protected in a strong tower when you run into it. So for you to be protected by God 'in your strong tower' you need to be in prayer in His presence.
That reminds me of Psalm 91. That is a powerful Psalm to read, learn and pray. You will be reassured of God's protection when you read it. It is the very first verse that calls your attention to how to obtain God's protection. This is what Psalm 91:1 says:
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him. Psalm 91:1-2.
You have to live 'in the shelter of the Most High and then you will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.'
Go dwell in Migdal-Oz, your strong tower. Spend time with Him in prayer, praise, and thanksgiving. That is the safest place to be.
