Devotional: Come Boldly To The Throne Of Grace | Hebrews 4:16.

Welcome to Day 5. for one of our short powerful devotions from the 30 Bible Verses About God's Amazing Grace, bible reading plan. This short devotional is based on Hebrews 4:16.

Come Boldly To The Throne Of Grace

We never have to be afraid of God. We should have reverential fear, meaning that we have a respectful awe, of Him. But God does not want us to lack confidence when we come to Him in prayer. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 4:16 that we can "fearlessly and confidently and boldly" come before the throne of grace.

Read Hebrews 4:16.

What Is The Throne Of Grace?

A throne speaks of authority and power, and the word grace conveys the idea of understanding and blessing. When you put those two words together, throne and grace in the same sentence, you get the perfect description of what Jesus Christ did for you and me on the cross!

Jesus is God's Son and full of His power, and through His love for us, He died on the cross to redeem us.

The throne of grace can be perfectly described where unmerited favor reigns and pours as a blessing on those who have surrendered their lives to Him. Hebrews 4:16 says that we can fearlessly and confidently and boldly draw near to the throne of grace that is full of God's unmerited favor to us (as sinners, not perfect in any way!) so that we may receive mercy for our failures and receive God's grace to help us correct those failures and have God's help with all our daily living needs.

Short Devotional: Come Boldly To The Throne Of Grace Meaning

How can you come boldly to the throne of grace?

We are encouraged in Hebrews 4:16 to come boldly to the throne of grace so that God can give us His mercy and His grace for whatever circumstance that we are in or for one that we will be in, in the future. How can we approach God with confidence?

Well, Hebrews 4:16 gives us an invitation to boldly approach the throne of grace. This is an invitation from God because He loves us so much.

Did you know that God is interested in every single detail of your life and that He loves to hear from you? He so passionately desires to have fellowship with you that He sent His Son, Jesus to die on the cross to bridge the gap that sin causes between God's holiness and us.

Here are some tips on approaching God with confidence:

1. Boldly Approach The Throne Of Grace

Remember that God is your heavenly Father that loves you very much and He desires and encourages you to come to His throne of grace. You also need to realize that you need God's grace in your life. Have you surrendered your life to God and asked Jesus to come into every area of it?

When you have surrendered your life to Him, then you can fearlessly approach the throne of grace because you have been made righteous in Jesus.

2. Walking In Grace

Now that you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you can have the confidence to boldly approach the throne of grace and ask God for His wisdom, His mercy, and His grace as you walk through your day and ask for His help with every decision that needs to be made in it. You will be surprised at how much easier it is to get things done correctly when you invite God into your activities and listen for His wisdom and guidance in all that you do.

3. Approaching The Throne Of God With Confidence

You can have confidence coming into God's presence. You know that you have been made righteous through the blood of Jesus. So you now need to approach the throne of God with expectancy in your heart.

You can be expectant of seeing God's grace in your life. No matter what battle you are in the middle of or what your circumstances look like, know that you have God Himself in your corner. He sees where you are, He hears your prayers, and He passionately wants to be working in them with you.

Have you read Matthew 21:22?

This verse should fill you with confidence that God wants to answer your prayer and boldly lay your requests before Him. All that is required is your expectant faith that God will answer your prayer according to His plan for your life.
